Born in 1962 in Commack, New York, Rosie O’Donnell began her career as a stand-up comedian.er mother died of cancer when she was only 10 , her father took the loss particularly hard. Becoming emotionally distanced from the rest of the family, Rosie O’Donnell went to the Commack High School and graduated in 1980. She then got enrolled at the Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Finally, she shifted to the Boston University. She didn’t complete her graduate level studies at Boston as well and dropped out early.O’Donnell was a popular student who was elected prom queen, homecoming queen, most school-spirited and class president before graduation.In 1992, after appearing in several television specials, O’Donnell made a much-desired move to film. She made her big-screen debut as Madonna’s loveable sidekick in A League of Their Own, a Penny Marshall-directed film. During filming, O’Donnell forged many connections and friendships which served to enhance her career, including an enduring relationship with co-star Madonna.O’Donnell started going out with Michelle Rounds in mid-2011. While shooting for her TV show, The Rosie Show in December 2011, she told studio audience that she had got engaged to Michelle. In June 2012, they got married in a small ceremony in New York City. By the start of 2013, she announced that they had adopted a girl, Dakota O’Donnell. In 2014, they decided to split. In February 2015, she filed for divorce from Michelle. The divorce was finally settled in October 2015 after a messy fight between them behind the scenes about custody of their adopted daughter and monetary assets. As part of divorce settlement, she was awarded full custody of their daughter.
